People drive for miles just to stop here for the Sheepherder Bread Cheeze Breads or the Honey Squaw Bread. I’ve actually raced down Sherwin Grade to reach the bakery before it closed and been 15 minutes too late. I actually considered spending the night While this is an excellent bakery this is beyond-a-doubt the place to stop for a sandwich.

The Mule Kick Sandwich Roast Beef Sandwich Hot Pastrami on Rye and Egg Salad on Sourdough are all perfect. I m a big fan of Split Pea Soup and a bowl at Schat s never fails to satisfy. All the sandwiches are freshly made to order and they taste great.

They have all sorts of pastries and cookies and yummy treats. Count on a line and a huge wait but it is worth it. I hate the parking here so do yourself a favor; park over at the city park and stretch your legs. It s a short walk and avoiding the parking snarl is worth the trip.
